? What is Conscious Intellect ?

When we write, design an image, snap a photograph, sculpt a figure or create through virtually any medium we are presenting an idea to the world. We want those around us to view it and think. We are in effect opening a dialogue with our viewers. We don't always receive the reply from our opening statement and many times must plow through clichéd platitudes and superficial pats on the back when what we are reaching for is a moment to connect with one another.

Conscious Intellect is designed with that in mind. Here we open ourselves to others willing to participate in the sharing of thoughts and ideas that stem from our art. How do we learn and grow if we do not communicate with each other? Our thoughts, emotion, values, way of life reflect in our works and we share that with others. SHARE, not display but share in the two way street of conversation.


? How do I participate ?

I encourage those who wish to participate to note this account with a membership request. On a weekly basis there will be a new topic to explore and discuss. All topics are open for discussion but please limit side venues that stray too far from the main topic.

If you have prose, poetry, art or anything you would like to open for discussion please email it to consciousintellect@yahoo.com and it will be posted here under your name and topic. If it is something you already have posted on your account please include the link to the page with your email so it may be noted as well.

To maintain order and structure all discussion needs to remain in the journal under the topic heading. If you are speaking about a particular submission please remember to name that which you are speaking about.

All groups must have guidelines to follow or else be doomed to chaotic failure.

1. Membership will be open to all ages so use common sense when/if foul language is used. We are not a babysitter and we all need to remember that good manners will take you much farther here.

2. This is a place for open discussions and not a party line. Please refrain from leaving remarks such as "Ditto Dude." "You Rock, nuff said" "yer such a looser". These quips provide no feedback and distract others who are actively participating. Your thoughts, feelings and ideas are valuable even when they differ. THAT is what we are here for.

3. No intentional flaming or personal disparaging remarks will be tolerated. Not everyone will agree and some discussions become heated but remember this is to discuss our views and feel free to express them. It is all part of the growing/learning process. Members who actively take part in this particular activity will be noted with one warning and then removed from the group should their bad manners persist. You may re-apply for membership once more after a 14-day "cool off" period. Should the activity continue we would be forced to take harsher measure. I doubt that will become a necessity.

4. Should any members decide to take their discussions outside of the group you are more than welcome. We encourage interaction. If at all possible please note the group with related chats, emails, ECT...so we may all see.

5. Should the weekly format become to fast of a pace, we will push it back to a bi-monthly program. All topics are open for discussion and come from our members. Please note this account with any /all thoughts for topics. They will be set up in random order. Should you wish to re open a topic, please note the account and that will be taken into consideration.
